Fun aside, my experience in digital agencies and content would actually be super useful. Here’s my CV!

Content Marketing Manager (SEO) (July 2017- present)

Strategy: Analysing a client’s current position in their marketplace, and identifying opportunities to strengthen and improve their rankings through content. Making decisions based on data, competitor analysis and industry best practice.

Content creation and delivery: Create content on behalf of clients, in-line with the overall strategy. This includes on-site copy, creative content for outreach, and digital PR. Working on high-profile accounts such as Clarks shoes.

Monitoring results: Ongoing assessment of the effectiveness of campaigns, ensuring that the tactics I’ve suggested are contributing to objectives. Proactively identify if approaches need to change. Results of a recent campaign were shortlisted for a UK Search Award.

Project management: Ensuring all members of a client delivery team are on-track with their deliverables, and campaigns are running smoothly. Building and maintaining relationships with clients.

Service development: Continuously identifying how to improve ways of working to make them more efficient and have a greater quality of output. I have recently pioneered a new auditing process, and defined a new process for creative ideation meetings.

Content Strategist at Mediaworks Online Marketing (March 2016 – July 2017)

Copywriting: On-site content creation and optimisation, and writing outreach content. Collaborated with Disney UK on a Disney Princess quiz for House of Fraser which had a 51,540 reach and resulted in direct conversions.

Creating business-wide strategies: Took the lead on the company’s ORM strategy, designing the process and overseeing its implementation for a new client. Working with  the senior team on the company’s content marketing offering, to re-examine how the business defines it, sells it and reports on it.

Creating concepts for sales pitches: Worked with the Sales Director providing content ideas for pitches Worked on PR concepts for Noose & Monkey, content concepts for Ted Baker, and social media campaigns for SUBWAY. I also created the concepts in our initial Ralph Lauren pitch.

Digital Marketing Manager at Mslexia Publications (October 2013- March 2016)

Social strategies: Designing social media strategies for Mslexia’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. Increased followers from 10.5K to 15.2K, and likes from 5.3K to 8K in two years.

PPC: Setting up Adwords campaigns to drive new customers to the site within budget.

Email campaigns: Managing the monthly subscriber newsletter, collecting and editing content from staff, proofreading and sending. Open rates consistently above 50%.

Reviewing campaign success rate: Reviewing all of the above through Google Analytics goals and conversions to ensure the campaigns were effective.

Website management: Updating mslexia.co.uk, writing copy, creating images in Photoshop, commissioning freelance bloggers and curating their work.

Managing website redesign: Writing the brief, interviewing providers, managing the lead-up and preparing copy and images for launch. Managed transition to an e-commerce site, training admin staff to use the system.

Production of magazine and writer’s diary: Ensuring products are ready for press, including checking InDesign and PDF files, proofreading, and giving final sign-off to print.

Marketing Executive at B&B Attachments Ltd (September 2012- October 2013)

Public Relations: Building relationships with industry editors, hunting down good PR stories from the sales team, ensuring content was valuable enough to get free coverage.

Direct marketing: Creating a six-month marketing plan to promote company’s hire department, writing email and postal mailings, targeting customers and prospects.

Social media: Creating Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube accounts, growing a following and interacting with key customers and suppliers.

Organising attendance at exhibitions: Organising PR around the event, liaising with stand designers, creating marketing materials and press packs.

Website redesign: Conducting competitor analysis, identifying key requirements, creating suggested site map, obtaining quotes based on my brief.

Database management: Creating database of company contacts on Salesforce.

Copywriter at Newlife Cleaning, 7 Beach Road, South Shields (April 2011- September 2012)  

A part-time role creating marketing and SEO copy. Created optimised content, blog posts, email marketing campaigns and marketing materials. Became competent in the use of WordPress, Joomla and MailChimp.

Marketing Assistant at JAM Marketing (UK) Ltd (June 2010- June 2012).

Assisted with all in-house marketing and PR, including writing press releases and marketing copy, conducting interviews for written work and working at events.

Education

MA Creative Writing Northumbria University (Distinction), completed December 2014.

BA Hons in English Literature from the University of Sheffield (2:1), completed June 2010.

A-Levels: English Literature: A, English Language: A, Sociology: A, AS Level: History: B. GCSE’S: 11 all A*-B.
